Forest Rest House Booking Procedure
- Online bookings must be made in advance through authorized platforms as per forest department guidelines.
- Provide valid ID proof (Aadhaar, Voter ID, Passport) for all guests at the time of booking.
- Bookings are confirmed only after full payment. Bookings once made are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Check-in time: 11:00 AM | Check-out time: 10:00 AM the following day.
- Jeep safari booking is compulsory for guests staying inside the forest zones. (Safari fees are separate)
- Electricity and mobile signal are limited in deep forest zones. Guests are advised to prepare accordingly.

Forest Rest House Zone Details
Dhikala is the most renowned and centrally located forest rest house inside Jim Corbett National Park. It is accessible only through Dhangarhi Gate and lies deep in the core zone of the reserve. Dhikala is known for its vast grasslands, riverbeds, dense Sal forests, and unparalleled tiger sighting opportunities.

How to Reach Dhikala Zone
Entry to Dhikala is allowed only through the Dhangarhi Gate, which is located approximately 18 km from Ramnagar. Visitors must have a valid booking permit to enter. The rest house lies about 30 km inside the forest from the gate and is accessible only by authorized 4x4 gypsy vehicles. Private vehicles are not allowed beyond the gate.
How Dhikala Safari Works
All tourists staying at Dhikala FRH must book at least one jeep safari for each night of stay. Morning and evening safaris are conducted under the guidance of trained naturalist guides.
